Past and modern day thief's the original currency

Leo Dicaprio playing Jordan Belfort(Wolf of WallStreet)
In today's word take a look in a wallet or a purse, chances are there is a green paper called a bill. Could be one dollar bill, a five dollar bill, or a twenty dollar bill. The point is that this money was not always the green paper in Mr Dicaprio's hands on the image to the left.

Back in the the pirate age of the 1500s instead of paper money or the coins we know today they were plundering pieces of eights. Pieces of eight were silver coins counted as eight reals hence the name.

This currency was also known as the Spanish dollar. They were granted this name due to the fact they were made in Spain. The currency would leave the coasts of Spain through the hands of Pirates. Through plunders and takeovers the currency would transport. The treasure was known as the one the prizes from the new world. The Currency would flow out of Panama in ports like Nombre De Dios.

Sir Francis Drake Great adventurer dead (Uncharted)
Sir Francis Drake was an Englishman who chose the life of a Pirate he had many successful expeditions. The book Under the Black Flag details many of these expositions. The first being raiding a mule train in Panama which ended in failure.

This failure led to his raid on the town of Venta Cruces on the banks of the river Sagres. He eventually was able to raid the mule train after all and heading back to England with fifteen tons of silver and 100,000 pounds in coins or pieces of 8.

Drakes greatest prize would come from a ship named the Cacafuego. The Cacafuego was captured by Drake and his men on the Golden Hind Which was Drakes ship. Drake tricked the captain of the Cacafuego and took his ship and the haul was amazing. The ship was stocked with treasure with a great of jewels and stones. The ship had 13 chests of royal plate, 80 pounds of gold, and 26 tons of uncoined silver. The total haul was valued at 762,000 pesos which values at around 12 million pounds today.

Drake much like the protagonist in the film Jordan Belfort is a thief with bunch of money. Drake holding gold and pieces of 8 and Jordan the modern day thief holding cold hard cash. These two stole in different methods Drake plundered while Jordan made money off of suckers the man could sell anything even a pen. The treasure back in great pirate age came from Nombre De Dios, but the treasure in today's world comes from Wallstreet.
